1. Overview & Our Commitment

At Donloop, your privacy is extremely important to us. We built Donloop to connect you with local businesses and reward you for your visits — not to collect or monetize your personal data. This policy sets out what we collect, why we need it, and how you retain control over it. It is the full version of the plain-language summary shown inside the app, and it is the version that governs.

2. Information We Collect

We keep our data collection limited to what is necessary to operate Donloop:

Account details: your name, email address, city, and a profile picture if you choose to upload one.
Using Donloop without an account: you can browse and check in without signing up. In that case we hold only an anonymous identifier for your install.
Check-in history: which businesses you check in to, so we can credit your rewards, build your streak and show your progress.
Location: your coordinates at the moment of a check-in, used to confirm you are at the place. We do not build or keep a location history.
Photos: if you list or claim a business, the photo you upload is stored and shown on that listing.
Device token: if you allow notifications, an identifier that lets us send them to your device.
Business owners only: if you pay for a listing package, the mobile number the payment is charged to.

3. Device Permissions & Why We Need Them

Donloop asks for these permissions on your phone. Each one is explained in the app before it is requested, and the app tells you plainly which are optional.

📍 Location

Why we ask: to show you businesses near you, and to confirm you are actually at a place when you check in. We only use your location while you are using the app. We never collect it in the background or when the app is closed, and we do not store continuous location logs.

🔔 Notifications

Why we ask: to tell you when a reward you were working towards unlocks, and when somewhere new opens up nearby. This is optional — the app works without it, and you can change your mind at any time in your device settings.

📷 Camera

Why we ask: to scan a venue's QR code where a business requires one to check in, and to take a photo of your business if you are listing or claiming one. We do not read your photo library — you choose each picture yourself.

4. What Other People Can See

Some of your profile is public to other Donloop users so that local leaderboards work:

Visible to other users: your display name, city, profile picture, check-in count and streak.
Visible to a business: when you claim a reward, the business sees your reward code and the name on your profile — nothing else about you.
Never public: your email address, and your activity anywhere other than the leaderboard.

5. Service Providers

We use a small number of providers to run Donloop. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes below:

Google Firebase — accounts, database, file storage and push notifications.
Google Maps & Places — finding and displaying the businesses around you.
Our payment provider — collecting payments from business owners for listing packages. Customers never pay Donloop for anything.

We Never Sell Your Data

Donloop does not sell, rent or trade your personal data, email or location to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising. Beyond the service providers listed above, who act only on our instructions, we share nothing with third parties or data brokers.

6. Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, without asking us:

Open the menu in the top left of the Donloop app.
Tap your name at the top, then Account settings.
Tap Delete my account and confirm.

This permanently removes your profile, your reward codes and your reward progress, and it cannot be undone. Any businesses you managed are released back to being ordinary listings. Your past check-ins remain with the businesses you visited, because those visit counts are the business's own record — but they are stripped of your name and picture, so they are no longer connected to you.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect your data in transit and at rest. Everything that affects rewards — check-ins, progress and codes — is written only by our servers, never by the app, so it cannot be forged from a device. Access to our databases is restricted to essential staff.

8. Children

Donloop is not directed at children. You need to be old enough to hold an account under the laws of the country where you live.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Donloop grows. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and the effective date at the top of this page will change.
